Algeria is party to both the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks and the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property.
Algeria adheres to the Nice Agreement’s International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of Mark Registration, and as of January 1, 2002, classes 43 to 45 have been added to class 42 upon its amendment. Upon payment of an additional charge to cover the additional classes, an application may contain goods and/or services in any number of classes.
Application
- An easy Power of Attorney that the assignee signs.
- A properly notarized assignment deed including signatures from both the assignor and the assignee.
- The assignee’s name and address.
- The service mark or trademark’s registration number and date.
