SRI LANKA
The registration of a trademark or logo in Sri Lanka is governed by the Intellectual Property Act No. 36 of 2003.
- The first stage in the trademark registration process is to check the National Intellectual Property Office to see whether any marks that are similar to the mark in issue are already registered or are in the process of being registered.
Registering the mark would be the next step. To accomplish this, a trademark registration application must be filed together with two copies of the mark’s 10 cm by 10 cm depiction and the application fee.
Documents Required
- A letter of authorization designating our company as your representative. If the letter of authority is from a firm, two Directors must sign it; if it is from an Authorized Signatory, the supporting documents for the authority must be turned in. (format is provided).
- A trademark image that is no larger than 10 cm by 10 cm.
