Registration of trademarks Poland is a party to the Madrid Protocol, the Madrid Agreement, and the European Union. Registration is required to acquire trademark protection. It can also be obtained with enough public acknowledgement.

Requirements

A local agent must submit a trademark application to the Patent Office. All you need is an unregistered power of attorney. A domestic registration is not required for foreign candidates.

Renewal

In Poland, the formal grant fee for a trademark certificate must be paid within three months following the decision to grant the right of protection. In Poland, a trademark right is valid for ten years after the application is filed with the Polish Patent Office. Polish trademarks are renewable for an infinite number of times for 10 years. The renewal payments need to be settled twelve months prior to the registration period ending. If an additional charge is paid, a renewal may be requested within six months of the renewal deadline.

Duration

In Poland, a trademark registration is effective from the registration date for a period of ten years. Ten-year renewal periods are available for the registration.
