Registration of trademarks Serbia – Serbia is a signatory to both the Madrid Protocol and the Madrid Agreement. Registration is required to acquire trademark protection. It can also be obtained by receiving enough public acknowledgement.
Requirements
A local agent must submit a trademark application to the Republic of Serbia’s Intellectual Property Office. All you need is an unregistered power of attorney. A domestic registration is not required for foreign candidates.
Renewal
In Serbia, a trademark’s ten-year validity period begins on the day of filing and can be renewed indefinitely. In Serbia, trademarks may be renewed by paying additional costs within six months of the expiration of the validity term, but not later than six months following expiration.
Duration
In Serbia, a trademark registration is effective from the registration date for a period of ten years. Ten-year renewal periods are available for the registration.
