Andorra trademark registration – The Trademark Act of May 11th serves as the country’s legal foundation. Registration is required to acquire trademark protection. It can also be obtained by receiving enough public acknowledgement.

Filing Requirements

A local agent is required to submit a trademark application to the Trademark Office (OMPA). All you need is an unregistered Power of Attorney. Every application must be registered domestically.

Procedure

A formal assessment, a distinctiveness examination, and a trademark search are all part of the application procedure. Following registration, the OMPA publishes the trademark and releases the “Gaseta” (CD-ROM). Please take note that there are no national laws in Andorra that allow you to oppose a trademark registration. Opposition filings against trademark registrations are not permitted.

Duration

In Andorra, a trademark registration is effective from the registration date for a period of ten years. Ten-year renewal periods are available for the registration.
